Okayyy?

Ashlee's life since... Feburary? Wow, has it really been that long?

I finished up my first year of college (Yay!). Sadly though, I don't think I made the most of it. Towards the end of the year, I noticed I didn't do many of the typical college experiences. I also noticed I didn't make as many deep connected friendships. Did I make friends? Yes. Did I make friends that I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life? No.

All in all, I did have a great experience. I got to experience living on my own and being away from my parents for a while. Although I was home nearly every other weekend to watch hockey games. I did take a few steps out of my sheltered life though. I went to sketchy parties, I stayed out late, when I had class early the next morning, and I got to make my own decisions without my parents watchful eyes.

Unfortunately (fortunately?), I'll be transferring schools next semester. I officially changed my "major" to Dental Hygienist. The school I was going to doesn't offer a program for that. One school that does, is about 3 hours away in Kansas City. I still need a few more general ed classes, so to save money for my move to Kansas City, I'll be going to a local University for those few classes I need. It's the same school I played bass for their Youth Orchestra and took a class during my junior year.

This summer has pretty much been dedicated to work. I got a job at the country club in the town 20 minutes away. I'm working in the snack bar, but I'm basically just a poolside waitress. The pay is higher than waitress minimum wage and the regular minimum wage for that matter. Plus I'm working about 20-30 hour weeks. As weird as it sounds, I actually enjoy working there. Many of the member are really nice, despite their reputation, and the people I get to work with are great.

Sadly, that's only a summer job. So, I'll either have to be trained to work inside during banquets or find another job during the school year. I think I might look into finding another on campus job at my new school. The on campus job I had at my old college worked out fantastically.

Other than that, my summer will be spent out by the pool. No joke.

Miss you guys! Update me on your lives!

Inspiration

Hi all! This is going to be short because I'm in the middle of doing homework, but I just wanted to share something inspirational with you.

A girl who I ran cross country with for one year (I was a freshman, she was a senior) has been losing her hair lately. Instead of being upset about it disappearing, she decided to embrace it and shave her head. I can only imagine how difficult that might be, and she looks so happy in her pictures.

So check out her blog, and hopefully it will make you smile. :)

Snow, Sunflower Showdown, & Cute TA's

Kaylee I gots yous letter. I'll try and write you back this weekend.

I decided to go ahead and update the good old cake blog, while I'm waiting for my friend to get ready to go hang out at our other friends house.

What's new in Ashlee's life you might ask?

Nothing.

Blog post over.

Just kidding. Some very exciting things have happened to me in the past few weeks. First it snowed a butt load. Not really exciting because I hate snow. Well, I hate driving in it. It's very pretty to look at, but I'd take 100 degree weather over snow any day.

I went to my first Sunflower Showdown game! For you non-Kansans, the Sunflower Showdown is a sporting event that pits KSU against KU. On Valentine's day, instead of cuddling up with a guy, I waited outside for six hours in order to get a good seat at the game. I froze my ass off! But it was so worth it. My friends Dad actually got in there early and saved us front row seats in GA. OH YEAH. FRONT ROW FOR THE KU/KSU GAME! We were so close! The game was great too. KSU dominated #1 ranked KU. 84-68 baby! KSU never beats KU, so when we did win, the student section did a court rush. I was sitting front row, student section. I got mauled. Quite literally. I have bruises ALL over my legs and I almost fell over the railing. I couldn't move and people kept pushing up against me trying to make me somehow move through the railing and down to the court. It was awful, I really thought I was going to get seriously injured at one point. But then, this guy (my knight in a purple t-shirt), came up behind me and like put his arms around me. And at first I was all like, "Oh crap, he's going to rape me and no one will notice because they're all trying to get to the court."

And my friend, was like, "What are you doing! Get off her!" to the guy.

And the guy was like, "I'm trying to help her!"

Once he said it, I did notice that a lot of the pressure that had been put up against me was gone, because people were now pushing up against him. He was creating a barrier around me. He was getting pushed against and holding off all the fans from touching me. He was taking the heat for me, a girl he didn't even know. What a stud, but he left before I got to say thank you or even see him for that matter. But I heard his voice and one day I WILL FIND HIM!

Lastly. The teacher's assistant in my biology class IS A HUNK! I could stare at him all day. He makes me melt like a popsicle on the 4th of July. He's kind of tall, dark brown hair, light blue eyes, and the most amazing smile. Plus he's super smart, okay, he's borderline geeky, but in a very adorable way. He looks like James Lafferty, combined with Joe Jonas's smile.

In our biology class, we do like a 10 minute introduction, then we're on our own (with our 3 lab partners) to finish a module for an hour and a half. Then we do a wrap up in the last 15 minutes of class. During the time we're alone, the TA's and the teachers come around and answer our questions. Cute TA spends about 75% of his time at our table. Partly because we all like to stare at him and partly because we're dumb and really need his help. There's another TA who I'll just refer to as Rude TA, because he is quite rude. Rude TA pretty much told us we were all dumb asses. How rude.

Once Cute TA tried to link my major (advertising) to biology. And he used the word sex about three times. I was unaware that sex is what links the two together, but I just let him keep repeating the word, because I know he was trying to hint at something... HAHAHAHAH. Then another time, we were waiting for our exam to start and one of my lab partners told me she caught Cute TA staring at me a few times. I know he wants me.

Hahah. But really, he's a stud and I want him! I'm pretty sure he's about 22 or 23... 4 years older than me. He was starting college when I was starting high school. Whatever love knows no age. We are destined to be together forever!

That's my life thus far.

Love you girls!

P.S. When Cute TA finally gets up the courage and asks me to marry him. You guys will be the first to know.

Hello February

Hey guys. just checking in with everyone.
I wrote you back Ash. I left the letter at my house so hopefully my parents put it in the mail. If they did you should be getting it soon! YAY.

It just occurred to me that its FEBRUARY (which is spelled really oddly)
YAY another day/ month closer to spring.. I cannot wait till it gets warm again. I feel like I physically hibernate during the cold months. aka I sit around and wish it was warmer.
Which also made me think.. hey isn't it Emma's birthday?! I got a new phone in which I didn't transfer my birthday alerts over from. But im pretty sure it is. I never know what age anyone turns though. but...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA wherever you are. I hope your doing awesome and you have things a little more sorted out from the last time I talked to you about a year or so ago.

I just finished my African American Literature paper that I started around 5pm. today. I was avoided it since my alarm went off at 10:30 today which I chose to ignore for about a half hour.
Oh how I love my schedule. you would be super jealous that I only have Mon. Wends ASh. but it is continuous class from 11-1:30 and 2-4:30 so pretty much all day but 2/7 days a week isn't too bad of a ratio.

well I haven't been doing too much as of lately. like usual. but I did bring my room for my first venture driving back home, yay for driving a continuous 4 hours. It was kinda fun. went to two malls, ikea, uptown charlotte, casa grande, and the disney store (which is one of the malls but its kinda a big deal for Kate)sad no JB stuff though. I collected more left overs than I know what to do with.

Other than that I'm just working on my 4th week? of classes and so far I don't think I'm do far behind in anything.

What are all of you up to?
anything exciting.
I can't wait till its sunny and I can do fun things and actually exit my apartment. ooh and maybe road trip which reminds me... .
JOSEPH ADAM JONAS RELEASE YOUR MUSIC NOW SO I CAN ROAD TRIP TO SEE YOU IN MULTIPLE VENUES!!

that is all.
Peace, Love, and Jonas

Third Day.

Pretty sure that's a band... actually I'm pretty sure I've seen them in concert... just Googled it... I have seen them in concert. Oh yes. I saw them with Family Force 5 in 2009.

Ramble.

Title Relevance. My third day of spring semester was today. Whoop whoop. I forgot to blog about yesterday's events. Today was much like the first day with the exception of me working 11-2, instead of me working 6am-9. I guess I don't have much to report about... this is awkward.

Unrelated to the Title. Yesterday was awful. It started snowing around 10 and didn't stop until about 12 hours later. I had to walk 10 minutes one way to my Biology class, which is also such an awful way to spend 2 hours of my life twice a week. Not to mention I had to work from 7am-9... I'm never going to get to sleep in this semester. Whoever designed my schedule is just awful. Just kidding, that was me.

Anyway, we got about six inches of snow yesterday on top of the four or so inches that were already on the ground. 10 inches of snow and guess what. We still had school. I guess snow days in college are just more rare, because my sister has had four snow days in the past TWO WEEKS.

My parents just (well yesterday) informed me that we're taking a family vacation to Vegas this July. Great for my parents and older brother, not so great for me and my younger sister. What are an 18 year old and a 16 year old supposed to do in Vegas? I'm happy we're going though, because our last family vacation was to Chicago a few years ago and that was an adventure. It involved food poisoning, getting on the wrong bus, taking the subway for the first time, St. Patty's day parade, loads of drunks (including my older brother), and a train ride back home. But I still love Chicago, it's one of my favorite cities.

Ramble.

I'm just gonna go!

Love you guys!

First Day of Class.

You know that weird kid, who's super excited to be back in class the first day of school? They get to class really early, so they can sit smack dab in the middle of the 'T-Zone'. They've bought all their supplies and couldn't be more prepared for the class.

That kid is and has always been me.

I ADORE the first day of class. Winter and Summer break throw me off course. I like structure. Summer and Winter break are nothing but a bunch of unorganized, unplanned days, that have no daily routine to them. And it sucks, I usually get nothing accomplished over breaks because I'm thrown off course and don't find my way back until the end of break. Don't get me wrong, I love breaks, but there's something about an organized routine set into action that just excites me.

I just re-read that paragraph, gosh, I'm lame.

But really. I had my first day of class for second semester today and it was wonderful. Well, it was okay.

World Geography. A seemingly easy class. The teacher is young and my roommate is taking it with me. Not to brag or anything, but I did win the Geography Bee (1st place suckers!), in 5th grade, for my entire Elementary school. Oh yeah, that's right, I beat all those sorry 6th graders butts! If we were in the Olympics, I would have brought home the gold and they would have shamefully walked home with the silver.

College Algebra. I felt mildly offended during class today. The stuff they were teaching us... I'm pretty sure I learned in middle school. Not to mention, all the people in that class just look like morons. I've already finished this weeks homework without Thursday's lecture. Oh. Worst part of my class experience. This guy sat down next to me and tried talking to me (but I, who is incredibly shy around people I don't know, didn't say much and I think he thought I was ignoring him). Worst part. He kept farting during the entire lecture and I just had to sit there and gag. Nasty.

Lunch. I got a turkey, sub sandwich, some turkey and rice soup, and a lemonade.

Dinner. I got a turkey, sub sandwich, some turkey and rice soup, and a lemonade. Oh and some pineapple. Thought I'd switch it up a bit.

Love you guys!

-ashlee

P.S. I know I rabble a lot, but for some reason, my friends have no desire to listen to me give my daily stories in extreme detail. The nerve of them! It's ridiculous.

Bazinga!

Once again, you've fallen for the classic prank. Gee. I love the Big Bang Theory.

In other news, I have not completed a single thing since Thursday. Well, I did go grocery shopping, got my books, and mailed a letter, but other than that, I have done nothing.

My roommate is supposed to come back today, but I'm not sure when she'll be here exactly. She's from Oklahoma (where there are no cars) and it's a 6 hour drive up here.

Carly. I miss the days when my life revolved around all things Jonas too. Sad day. My sister and I decided last week, if they do another concert either this year or next year, we're going. No questions asked. And if there is a meet and greet, we're splurging. Meeting them would just complete my life and then I would be okay with forgetting about them in two years.

Kaylee. Check yo' mail... soon. I just sent it today.

I think I've said this before, but I think a CAKE chat is in order soon. Very soon. I still have the same screen name. I'm not on often, but if one of you is on and I get on, message me! Whoa. Weird. I just got on AIM and I have no clue who half the people are on my buddy list. I know most of them are JBFers, but really, no clue.

Gots to go! Love you girls!
